🛠️ Step-by-Step Mixing Instructions
- Measure the Water: Measure the calculated quantity of clean water.
- Warm the Water: Warm water makes dissolving the sugar easier. It is not necessary to boil the syrup.
- Add Sugar: Slowly add the measured white granulated sugar while stirring until completely dissolved.
- Cool the Syrup: Allow the syrup to cool before feeding or adding bleach.
- Fill Clean Feeders: Transfer the finished syrup into clean hive feeders and store unused syrup appropriately.
💡 When to Use Each Syrup
1:1 — Spring / Stimulation
A lighter syrup commonly used during spring buildup, nuc or package establishment, comb building, or other periods when supplemental carbohydrate is needed.

A heavier syrup commonly used during fall feeding when colonies need additional stored food before winter.

⚠️ Important Feeding Notes
- Use plain white granulated sugar for routine syrup preparation.
- Avoid feeding sugar syrup when harvestable honey supers are in place if that honey is intended for human consumption.
- Use clean feeders and discard syrup that has substantially fermented or otherwise spoiled.
